About your host Pete Ludovice

Dr. Pete Ludovice explaining the biochemistry of cannabis using a stoner t-shirt at the 2015 Maryland STEM Festival, and the 2015 Baltimore Fringe Festival (oddly enough his show qualified for both).

After receiving his B.S. and Ph.D. in chemical engineering at the University of Illinois, and M.I.T. respectively, Pete did post-graduate research at IBM, NASA and the ETH-Zurich. He has taught chemical & biomolecular engineering at Georgia Tech for over two decades, and has worked as a professional comedian for over one decade. Pete's efforts to use humor to educate the public on topics in science & engineering, include an National Science Foundation project on humor in the engineering classroom, a research project on the use of humorous improvisation to catalyze technical innovation, co-directing the Georgia Tech Humor Genome Project, and numerous performances at venues including the Atlanta Science Festival, the U.S.A. Science & Engineering festival and colleges and clubs across the U.S. He also finds time to teach and carry out research on the computer simulation of synthetic and biological macromolecules.

Pete's first interest in the science of cannabis began a few years ago when he was telling jokes at the Sweetwater 420 Festival in Atlanta, and discovered how little the public knew about cannabis. Scince then he has begun researching various aspects of cannabis, including the simulation of the CB1 and CB2 cannabinoid receptors, and the thermodynamics of cannabinoid extraction.
